Polka in the Park

Wednesday a friend and I went to Balboa Park in San Diego for the day and came across some pretty cool things, namely a polka band and seniors that love, I repeat love to polka. Oh and a dog that loves to have his picture taken.

If you do not like Polka this is not the post for you.

I so loved that these guys dressed up.

The friendly dog. Smile for the camera!

Don't worry mom, I am ok.

Can't resist a man in uniform.

Love love the expression here.

The people watching was great.

A rare look at the crazy woman behind the camera. No need to look.

And for the true polka lovers.

This guy just rocked our world that night.

SHe Guatemala 2009

As many of you know I went to Guatemala and was able to act as the photographer for SHe and Choice Humanitian.

This was my second time to a developing country and each time I leave my safety bubble of Southern California I try to prepare myself for what I may see,
but there is nothing that can be done to prepare yourself for what you may feel. The Guatemalan people have love that is hard to describe with words and can be only felt.

Here are a few of the things I saw and experienced while I was there.

Nat arranged for us to meet up with some of her friends in Guatemala City for the day. It was fun getting to know some of the locals and seeing the sites of Antigua. Thanks for playing tour guide guys. I had a blast.

I quickly feel in love with her friends daughter. Isn't she the cutest?

On the way to the Polochic Valley were stopped for lunch and were able to take in some of the beauty of Guat country side.

This is just a few of the many children that loved to have their picture taken. I felt so popular carrying my trusty 30D around. Oh 5D MII I missed you more then I missed electricity.

Some of the many many friends I made on trip. You guys are Rock Stars!

The mighty army of SHe and Choice! Oh how I miss you guys.

A post isn't a post without baby toes.

El paro. The dogs of the Polochic. I don't think Peta would be happy with this picture.

On of the many church buildings you would find walking around the jungle. Oh it brings tears to my eyes thinking about the love I felt while in this building.

Typical home in the Polochic. Yes I now have a clothline out my back door. :)

And last some of the many spiders and bugs that we made friends with. Frogs, bugs, spiders and cockroaches that joined us for dinner on more then one occasion.

I hope that I was able to provide Choice and SHe with images of this trip that will be charished for years to come.

Thanks for the experience!

Tanni

PS guys please email any videos or pics you have of me while there. My mom would really like to see them.

Cousins at the beach

Well I know many of you are looking for a Guatemala posting, but you are just going to have to wait until tomorrow. :) I will say it was one of the best trips I have been on in quite sometime.

One of the many sisters from up north came down for a short trip and on her last day back we took the kids to the beach.

So good to see all of you and glad to hear the drive back was safe.

Can't wait to see you all in a couple of weeks.

Kids day at the OC fair-- Orange County childrens photographer

On Thursday I celebrated Children's Day at the Orange County fair with my niece. We had a blast.

She climbed the rock wall and won a pink frog. Way to go Maya!

Shared an ice cream. It was so yummy!

Saw racing pigs from Alaska.

Made friends with animals. Maya couldn't get enough of the goats. Emily remember when you kissed one?

Rode more rides!

This one I was actually brave enough to go on.

More round and round rides. This makes me sick thinking about it.

After the long car ride, we returned to find that the brothers had turned into puppies while at the fair.

Love you Maya!
