Cousins

While in Washington I had more kids running around me then I have had in a long time. Can you tell the difference between the boy and girl cousins here?

Can you guess who's shoes these are?

Oh by the way this was just hours before the puke fest began can you tell?

Won't you be my Neighbor?

Yesterday I went on a Photo Walk with about 30 other photographers around the city of Orange. I have been to Old Town Orange before but never had my camera with me. So this was a treat to see this part of town through a lens. The most interesting thing about this part of town is that they have left it historically the same for more then 50 years. Here are a few things that I saw. What do you like best about the city of Orange?

This reminded me of my old friend Mr. Rogers. So sad to know that so many children will grow up not knowing who this man was and the love he showed the children of the world. Mr. Rogers you are missed greatly. (Not to go off on a tangent, but I remember the day he died and all the feelings that I had. It was weird to cry for someone that I didn't know personally, but at the same time I think the whole world also mourned his death the same way I did.)

I tell you, I was framed!

Yesterday at my youngest sisters reception I pulled out of my seat and forced to part take in the ritual of the flower toss. After careful placement by sisters and sisters in-law I was positioned perfectly catch it. With perfect alignment I caught the flowers. I think this was the first one in many years that I didn't have to jump on someone to try to get it. I actually think that as she tossed it, it was more like a parting of the red sea and I was the only one left there. So what do you do but to catch it? Did I forget to mention how I was the only single person there and that they have been on me for years on how I need to settle down? Me catching the flowers seemed a bit like a Japanese game show that was rigged from the start.

Is it OK that I haven't found prince charming yet?

Ice cream for chickens and friends

There is a shot that I saw a while back on one of the blogs that I follow and have wanted to try it my way. Today after much coordination and some people bailing out at the last minute I was able to get it. This is just one of the many different shots I got in that 5 minute window.

POOF!

My wish came true, I am a Oscar Mayer Wiener.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Oh I wish I were a ......

On Saturday I got to check off one of my life goals, which is to see the Oscar Mayer Wiener mobile in person! I can hear the "I am so jealous!" comments as I am typing from you guys out in blog land. It was truly fab to finally see it in person. Did you know there are 6 mobiles that cover the United States and each covers about 6 states. So seeing this in person was a real treat.

Here are a few pics that I took while taking with the ever so fabulous Oscar Mayer mobile drivers. Thanks guys it was a true treat.

And yes I now own the famous wiener whistle.
Stay turned tomorrow to see if my wish came true.

childsplay and sandcastles

Over the weekend I was on the go and took a lot of pictures. The first of the bunch was the Balboa Island sandcastle building contest. Seeing the kids, parents and grandparents building together was a real treat. Here are a few of the castles that I saw. Checkout the name of the boat in the background, Childsplay, it couldn't have been better. This might be a little bit of a photo over load but I couldn't help but to share.

Yes it's true

Most of you already know but I had to put it up on here for the rest of you. Tuesday was the day to go pick up the pictures I had displayed in the fair. After visiting my pictures 3 times I knew there was no ribbon for me this year, but as I was getting ready in the morning I had a secret wish that when I would later pick up my prints that there would be a ribbon for me. I knew it was a silly wish but I couldn't help hoping that I would get a ribbon. When Kaleena and I went to pick up the prints I couldn't believe my eyes, there was a ribbon on the Homeless in Manila print. I won something I couldn't believe it I actually won something. After getting the prints in my car I couldn't help but to call my peeps and let them know I was now an award winning photographer! Hurray. These aren't the best pics but here it is. "Staff Pick Award" this means that one of the staff members of the photo content at the fair loved MY picture over the rest.

Sweetie

While proofing I ran across this and had to share. Isn't she just beautiful. Maria you are going to have your hands full with this one. After meeting her you couldn't help but to fall in love with her cute little personality.

Oh Maria, I didn't forget

Oh my dear Maria, I didn't forget about your special day. Here are a few sneak peeks from her wedding in late June. Hopefully I will have a good few solid hours tomorrow to really dive in and get some of your proofing done.

Who could forget about that wonderful cake. Yummy!

Why can't they all be like this?

Over the weekend I shot a reception/open house for a friend. The couple got married a few weeks prior so there was zero stress. Hurray! Why can't they all be like this?
Here are a few from that evening.

Look Ma I'm a Professional!

Many of you know that I entered the OC fair again this year. This year I decided to make it a little bit harder on myself and enter into the professional category with two pictures I took while in manila. Hurray! Over the weekend my friends and I decided to go and visit them. These are pictures of me holding up what some artists might call the golden ticket, INTEREST TO PURCHASE cards. These are cards that people who see my work fill out if they are interested in purchasing the photograph. I got 5 offers in total and many more from friends what would like to purchase.

Thanks Jamie for being my photographer of the evening.
