Nutcracker

Yesterday my niece and her friend and I went and saw the Nutcracker. As many of you know this is a long ballet and so I was very surprised by how quietly they sat for the duration of the show.

Glad to hear the kitchen is safe from the boys now.

Family Fun

A few weeks back I was able to shoot the Packer family for their Christmas card this year. This was a blast, running after three toddlers and more adults then I could keep track of. Hope to see you again next year.

Miss you!

This morning I got a call from my niece Emily and had a conversation that went something like this:

Emily: Can I talk to John the Baptist?
Me: He is at work right now.
Emily: Where does he work?
Me: At the mall.
Emily: A California mall?
Me: Yes
Emily: How far is it to his work?
Me: Half an hour.
Emily: What is half an hour?
Me: It is as long as it takes you to watch Dora.
Emily: Oh

Oh Emily I love you!

Welcome Baby E!

This was such a treat to play with such a new baby. Working with a model only a few days old takes time and a lot of willingness on the my and the parents part to make this work. Daddy, did you get the poop stains out yet? :)

Welcome to the world baby E!

I am such a geek.

Ok I said it I am a geek and many of you know it. So with that said I am happy to share what I learned this morning.

As I opened my sleepy eyes I reached for my phone (myTouch by T-mobile) to check my email and peek at the blogs that I stock, you know who you are, so any how I noticed that I had some updates to install, one being an updated version to Google Maps. This is an app that many of my friends and family cried with joy when I told them I would no longer be calling them from random locations to look up directions on how to get me out of a pinch. Remembering a few weeks back hearing about Google's Navigation beta (turn by turn directions with voice) I crossed my fingers hoping that this update would be the update of all updates. I installed and then quickly began searching google maps for new features. Not finding what I was looking for I quickly went the resource of all resources when it comes to andriod phones, www.androidcommunity.com
Sure enough on the front page I found what I was looking for

turn by turn directions with voice! Yes a FREE navigation system right in my phone. This is a happy day. No more trying to read a small dark screen while driving!

I think I might just have to drive some random places and see how well this works.

So all of you out there using iphones, top this! Love you Google!

oh yes! LoveBug published in the OC Register

Last week I did an event for Make A Wish of Orange County / Inland Empire called Broadway Wishes. This event featured talent such as Megan Hilty (Glinda from Wicked), Paul Canaan (Broadway version of Legally Blonde), Laura Bell Bundy (also from Legally Blonde), Norm Lewis (Miss Saigon), and Laura Osnes (NBC’s reality show, Grease: You’re the One That I Want) to name a few. This event was truly an amazing evening with talent bursting at the seams.

Some of my photos can be seen on OCRegister.com in the people watch section on slides 5, 42, 43, 44, and 45. In addition to photographing the event, I was able to meet some great members of the local press. Being able to socialize with others who understand my craft is always a treat.

LoveBug Portraits in Bodie, CA

Before heading out to NY, a friend and I did a road trip to Bodie California. Bodie is an old mining town, now turned ghost town, about a hour outside Mammoth.
This was a great road trip and suggest it to anyone who wants to see a town that time forgot. Thanks Katie for the suggestion.

Check out the LoveBug Portraits Facebook profile for more Bodie pictures!

LoveBug in New York City - take 2

This has taken a little longer then expected (got to love computers), but without further a due here are more pictures from NY.

What is so special about this? Just yesterday I was spinning my Nat on my head. Come on guys you can do better then this. :)

Nat, Sharon and I outside Serendipity 3 on my birthday. I don't think I could have asked for anything more. If you ever make it to this NY icon, you have to try their frozen hot chocolate, yummy!

A view from Central Park. Don't you just love the combo of buildings and nature together?

Just walking the streets around the hotel. Love the red doors. I wonder if this would look just as good in black and white.

You can't have NY without taxi's.

Love the contrast of the old vs. the new.

Little polish kids during a polish parade. Aren't the cute?

I think this one sums up NY pretty good, hotdog vendor, taxi, Radio City music hall, subway entrance, tall buildings, lots of traffic and people on the streets.

Check out lovebug portraits on facebook for more NY pictures.

I hopefully I will have all the audio hiccups out soon and I can do my last NY post shortly. I know you are dying to know how I spent the rest of my bday in NY.

-tanni
PS. V and S can't wait till I see you in NorCal.

LoveBug in New York City - part 1

One of the most important experiences I learned from my Guatemala trip was to love the people that were also there to serve. It was during this time I made four new friends and came closer to an old friend. This past weekend I was able to reconnect with them in NYC. Girls it was a blast and can't wait to see you all again.

Sarah outside the hotel we stayed in.

Down by one of the harbors in the financial district.

It rained so hard while visiting the lovely lady that it reminded me of Seattle. In order to get this shot I had to hide under a sign. I was quite the site getting this picture without getting my camera wet.

Oh Sarah and V how I can't wait to see you again in November.

This guy was amazing. You told him where you were from and he would make up a song about the state or country. He said he learned all his facts off the internet.

The girls.

Kids playing in the bubbles at Central Park.

More of Central Park.
